Privacy at Whym

Effective April 23, 2026

Whym is a pre-launch product. This page covers what we do with the information you share on this site today. When the product ships, we’ll publish a fuller policy covering the app itself.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist, we collect the email address you enter and the market you select (Bend, Oakland, or Other). If you pick Other, we also store the city name, region, country, and approximate coordinates of the place you choose from the search results. We don’t ask for a name, phone number, or any other detail.

To prevent abuse of the waitlist form, we keep your IP address for up to an hour so we can rate-limit rapid submissions, and we log the country of your request and your browser’s user agent string alongside your entry.

If you email us at a @whym.co address, we keep the message and your reply-to address so we can respond.

What we do with it

We use your email to tell you when early access opens in your market. We may send occasional updates, but you mostly won’t hear from us again until access opens.

We don’t sell your information. We don’t share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Every email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe link that works instantly. You can also reply to any email we send — a real person reads it.

Where your data lives

Your waitlist entry (email, market, and any place details you selected) is stored with Resend, a US-based email platform we use to manage our waitlist contacts. Resend holds the record on our behalf and doesn’t use it for any other purpose. Their policy: resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.

How to delete your data

Email contact@whym.co from the address you signed up with and ask us to remove you. We’ll do it and reply to confirm.
